With each bad decision that comes out of Washington, the chasm between our elected officials and us seems to grow wider. When Congress wants to cut taxes for the wealthy or the Supreme Court has sided with corporations, it's just business as usual.
Now, though, something unusual has happened. Some members of Congress want to know what Americans think and what they want their legislators to do about all this mess.
The Congressional Progressive Congress (CPC) is going on the road this summer, crisscrossing the country with the Speakout for Good Jobs Now! Rebuild the American Dream Tour, holding town halls that invite people to tell them what people's jobs priorities are. The CPC members at each town hall will listen more than talk, because it's the people who need to be heard.

The CPC wants to hear us now, and we can raise a chorus, telling our legislators what the real priorities are for Americans.
PDA supports the Speakout tour, building on relationships with two of the major forces behind it: Rep. Raul Grijalva and Rep. John Conyers. Grijalva is the CPC co-chair, and each of them is a PDA Advisory Board member. PDA has worked hand in hand with these great legislators for years and joins them in their excitement about the Speakout tour.
I hope you can join us in Miami. Get more details here.
