Women's Philanthropy is a focus for empowering the lives of women and girls. Supporting non-profit programs that help women and girls through encouragement to build lives that maintain stability, the result is dynamic transformation and social change. This is a clearinghouse for sharing information and resources, as well as a forum for promoting dialogue, exchange and feedback about critical issues that affect women's lives.
This week was proclaimed as national volunteer week by the Obama administration so here is a reprint of what we considered to be a thought provoking interview in 2008 with Shannon Maynard and Robert Grimm then of the Corporation for National and Community Service. It advocates looking at and investing in all workers – paid and unpaid - as a part of a valuable talent pool. Their insights are as important today as they were then.
