I do not wish women to have power over men; but over themselves.

Because one believes in oneself, one doesn't try to convince others.
Because one is content with oneself, one doesn't need others' approval.
Because one accepts oneself, the whole world accepts him or her.
Lao Tzu
When I first realized that today is December 1st, I wanted to find something to post that I believe represents the season of love and provides the message that we carry in our hearts -- not only throughout the holiday season, but always. When i discovered the concept of Ubuntu on Facebook, I was reminded that in the early 90s, I began to seriously consider and reflect on the concept of reciprocal living, resolutely adopting the belief that when receiving and giving ceased to be differentiated, I would be happy. As I read through this piece, most especially including the message shared by Bishop Tutu, I realized my hope and faith had been rewarded. Now, if only our country -- the United States of America -- would learn from our African sisters and brothers and adopt this philosophy I sincerely believe we would begin to make incursions into becoming the change I, for one, would most definitely like to see globally. I share this with you as my Christmas message -- not only for the season of love, but for always,
With love and respect for diversity in its many manifestations,
