eVOICES 2011 Nurse's Aide Training Begins in Yangon, Myanmar

2011 Nurse's Aide Training Begins in Yangon, Myanmar Dear Stephanie, On January 17, 31 young women were accepted to the Nurse's Aide Training Program conducted by the Zoe Development Center in Yangon, Myanmar.  This is the fifth year Global Women has contributed the funds for this program. The women are mostly from the region of Myanmar that was devastated by Cyclone Nargis in 2008.  They have little opportunity for jobs or education. The Nurse's Aide Training Program offers hope to these women by providing room and board as they participate in the 6-month training course.  After graduation from the program, the women will have opportunities for continued training as they work in area clinics and hospitals which will eventually provide a source of income for them.  Naw Paw Gaw, director of the Zoe Center, asks Global Women to pray for the instructors of the program and for the students as they adjust to their new educational setting. Also pray that these young women will experience love, encouragement and hope offered by the staff of the Zoe Center. Pray that they will all experience God's care and provision during this time of study and transition. Global Women's executive director will travel with a small medical team to Yangon in June, to offer additional training for the students and to celebrate with them as they graduate.     Update from Central Asia Prayer Need Kh, the woman we have been praying for this week, has been safely relocated to another country, along with her children. She is in a place unknown to her abusive husband and is surrounded by loving friends who are working to find her a permanent location.  In emails shared during this crisis, she expressed thanks for all who have been praying for her.  She expressed sadness for having to leave her home and her family, but thanks to God for protecting her and her children.  Please continue to pray as she adjusts to a new city and as she especially looks for a church family.     You are receiving this email because you have expressed an interest in Global Women's mission of connecting and empowering women to transform our worlds.
